ABOUT
Mathieu Waldemar is a public art curator, Artist, and fine arts professional.
His curatorial interests include public art, commerce, creative placemaking, and urban renewal. These can provide sustainable solutions to socioeconomic infrastructures that hinder racialized communities from equitably accessing local and regional cultural centers and experiences.
Waldemar is a Gallery Assistant for LĂ©vy Gorvy Dayan in New York. His administrative prowess extends to research and content development. In collaboration with the sales team, he utilizes his design skills in InDesign and Photoshop to create impactful sales and exhibition materials.
Waldemar is the principle of Third__Spaces, a public art advisory and consultancy that streamlines the realization of cultural projects for artists and stakeholders. He aims to showcase the power and fun of utilizing underused properties as creative playgrounds for folks to connect, create, and commune.
With experience at Marianne Boesky Gallery, Poster House, and The Aldrich Contemporary Art Museum, he excels in sales, event coordination, and championing accessibility and inclusion in the creative industry.
His artistic practice aims to archive oratory and familial stories within the Haitian and Caribbean diaspora through mixed and audiovisual media. Waldemar received his Bachelor of Arts in Art History and Visual Culture from Fairfield University. He currently resides within the NYC Metro area.
